Cheaper to say in Jersey and commute each day
Secaucus has lots of hotels with shuttle buses to the Allied Junction train station. Cannot park at the Allied Junction Station
Ramsey also has lots of hotels and two train stations.
You need to rent a car here.

Go to the NJtransit.com web site. You will see all the connections to NYC.

You're probably better off staying in New York. There are many options--smaller places to stay, say on the Upper West Side of Manhattan etc. that are a great value--and in the middle of a wonderful area to be in! Enjoy your stay in NYC.

Stay in Manhatten, you will walk or ride subway everywhere. Go to Priceline.com, place a bid on a hotel in midtown...good central location. Do not stay in Jersey...you want to be in the city..day and night..nightlife is great and lasts all night long, staying in NJ will interfear with this great once in a lifetime experience

new jersey, no doubt.

But you can also find cheap hotels on the outskirts of new york in places such as the bronx... it might be a way away but it's cheaper

...if you really can't afford to stay in NYC then stay in a 'hostel.' You can find them on line & most do like reservations - and it's a great experience to meet other people...have fun.
