Take the 1 train to either 14th or 34th Street. Then you are going to have to take the express, number 2 train, to the Bronx Zoo. The 2 should be on the opposite side of the track, or you will have simply go downstairs to get to the next track over without leaving the terminal.

The above 1/2 combination works. You could also walk about three blocks north from the ferry terminal to the Bowling Green stop on the 5 train...the 5 will take you directly to the zoo.

On either the 2 or 5, your stop for the zoo is West Farms aka East Tremont.

The Staten Island ferry journey is a pair of 0.5 hour. It does not pass to the statue of liberty; that's available via a diverse boat. The statue's island (Bedlow's Island) has a museum and a small shop; there's no longer lots else to do there. Staten Island is frequently residential with shops and department shops for the interior of reach citizens. that's truly no longer a tourist trip spot; in spite of the undeniable fact that the ferry journey is an excellent journey.
