I moved to Los Angeles to live in NYC for 3 years. It was well worth it. The city is so fantastic!

However... if you plan on living in Manhattan, be willing to rent a really small space and possibly share with roomies. You can also try an SRO-- single room with hotplate and shared hallway bathroom. Rent is going to be your main expense, as you can always find delicious cheap eats and take public transit.

Otherwise, you can get a place in the outer boroughs (Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx). Public transportation is very efficient. But pick a place near several subways/ buslines, so you have a choice in case one route is closed.

I would give it a try... especially if you're still young and single. (I'm married with a 6 y.o. boy). If you think New York is where you're supposed to be, then go for it! Good luck!

If you are into culture and the arts, no other city beats NYC. If you are into making money, no other area beats Wall Street. If you are into Video Production, if you are starting out in the low $30,000 range. Since Manhattan is the media capital of the USA, there are plenty of job opportunties in the video production field. Yet like any other job, it's helpful to know someone.

if you like snow then yes and if you like people, traffic, and lots of places and resturaunts to go to then sure. But think about what place would be better for your education or even your future
