I've never seen a meteor shower before. I live Houston, TX and there's too much light to see many stars usually at night so I'd like suggestions for places to view nearby. How far do I need to get away from the city?

See... I've found an opportunity to finally join a team that not only allows me the career advancement opportunity that my fiancee and I have been craving for years, but also deals in products and services that people "need" not just "want"... but this company was founded on ideas such as working together as a team, being passionate about what you do, and helping to get families out of debt in the process. I live in Houston, Texas and I am in search of people to join my team who would not be skeptical of the theory that there truly is a better way to financial and professional satisfaction than dozens of years in college or working the typical 9-5 job. Is there anyone in Houston, TX willing to share this dream with me and get more information? I'm not some sales person or marketer or anything, I'm just a 24 year old mother and wife and I'm just sick of never spending time with my husband and baby, and I need to meet people like me, who believe there's something better out there...

i always thought of texas as a progressive state, because of its cowboy history. if memory serves me correctly, i read in college that white, hispanics, and blacks settled texas and lived together in harmony. but the stuff i have been reading recently online about texas is opposite. so im kind of wondering about the place and if some texans can fill me in on what the place is really like, because i have a biracial child. thank you.

I have just moved to the Houston area and I have been researching public MIDDLE AND HIGH schools in the area. I am concerned about gangs and violence, as well as how well the teachers are involved with the students. I live within the HISD and the Lee High School and Paul Revere Middle School area. What are some suggestions regarding schools in this area? Also what about Lamar high school, Pershing Middle School, Lanier Middle School, and Carnegie High.

A friend a I went to the ocean near houston and for a swim, went went about 100 feet from the shore and started getting stung from what I thought must have been a jelly fish, turns out that there were hundreds of clear floating (things) that would attach themselves to us and bite or sting us. They were very small, about the size of a tick, clear, you could not see them unless you looked very close, all you could see of them were two dots that I suppose where there eyes. They had legs and stuff, I dont know if they had any claws, too small. Does anyone know what I am referring too?

I'm looking for some "safe" and nice apartments around the Champions/1960 or Tomball/Cypress area. I've looked at all the websites, including apartmentratings.com, and I'm trying to find really honest opinions from people who've lived in these places. Any suggestions?

I am black and have lived in Dallas before. (I am currently in Phoenix and I am thinking of a relocation to Houston) I found the hospitality and friendliness to be exempt in Dallas (unlike Phoenix), BUT, there was a tremendous amount of racism (There doesn't seem to be much racism in Phoenix). I want to know that I will feel comfortable in Katy. (I would like to live there because of the low crime, I am also choosing to move there, because it is close and will be cheaper than the East Coast.) But, what can I expect? Any blacks out there who want to share their story, would be great, but anyone is welcome to add their comments. Thanks!
