Hey, thanks for reminding me. You can probably still see them through next weekend. I try to go way out into the country to watch. You need a dark, clear sky. Tonight and the rest of the week should be cloudy but I would still try this weekend. Look to the horizon because they will not be directly overhead. Relax because it is not a real shower or even a sprinkle...just enjoy the drops!!!

"The Perseid meteor shower show llit up the skies this weekend. The Perseid meteor shower on August 12 made it possible for people to see up to 15 shooting stars per hour!
The Perseid meteor shower, which is caused by comet dust entering the earth's atmosphere, peaked at about 3:30 AM EST on Sunday, according to published reports. Jane Morgan, from Charleville's Cosmos Centre, explains:

"They will see more shooting stars at night, but the showers are more on the horizon for the southern hemisphere rather than high in the sky ... so it's along the horizon that they'll be able to pick up the comet dust coming in, just before sunrise, so it wouldn't hurt to be up around three o'clock in the morning."

Again, anytime you want to see meteors, head to the country on a moonless. clear night. This is the best time but you can see them a lot this time of year.

There will be meteors visible tonight, and for the next few nights. It is the Perseid meteor shower, and comes in August.

Best time for viewing, I hear, is after 1AM.
