We call it "Katy" not Katy City.
Unless you are going to open a nail salon or dry cleaner you pretty much need to speak English. There aren't a whole lot of immigrants in Katy.

Houston is very large and multicultural. It's literally like an LA or NYC no exaggeration. There is always something to do. Always! Lots of events hosted. Mostly all areas are diverse. Inside 610 loop is very upscale (Galleria, River Oaks, Rice University, West University, Memorial Park) and is the heart of the city. Champions area is nice and relatively safe. It more affordable because it is further out from the center of the city. I have friends in the Cypress/Fairfield area which is all close by. I almost never go to SE or SW Houston. Stay away from SW houston unless you opt for Sugarland, TX which is a SW burb of Houston. Sugarland can get expensive. There are high profile people out there(NBA, NFL and other high profile folks) SW Houston(Sharpstown area, Chimney Rock Rd, Bellfort Dr., Fondren St, Harwin Dr, Bellaire St/SW Freeway intersection) ghetto areas and has crime.

There are over 200,000 Vietnamese in Houston. There are a ton of businesses that are Vietnamese owned and operated. On the West side on Belaire Blvd is basically China Town. The whole area is mainly Chinese and Vietnamese. Houston is very diverse and racially receptive. You shouldn't have any trouble finding work.

I live in Katy. I work in corporate America so I don't know about too many jobs around here. I went to Quiznos and neither person working could speak english so I have no idea how we were able to even get the message across. Sounds good for you though. There are many jobs to work in lawn care and some other stuff.

There are Vietnamese restaurants, they can work in the kitchen.
Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of my favorite Houston, VietNamese Restaurant. Food is delicious.
It's just beyond Chinatown.

night stocker would probably work or a dry cleaner, but learning enlgish would probably be the best idea. Employers are getting real sensitive when no one wants to make the effort to speak the language
