About WDW Boardwalk: When do street entertainers come out? Any of them kid-friendly? I would like to take my 4-year old boy there for a few hours in the evening - the day of our arrival to Disney World (I don't want to go to the park on that day - we'll be arriving ~ 4pm). Do you think this is a good idea? MouseSavers suggests this as a 'cheap thrill'.

When I went to Vegas last summer, I bought a yard-long drink on Fremont Street (at the Bayou, I think) for about $17. The next night, I bought the same size drink at Caesar's Palace and it cost me almost $40! (I didn't ask how much it cost before she poured it - learned my lesson for next time.)

My question is... where can I get the cheap yard -long drinks on the strip? I will be spending most of my trip on the strip and around the Rio/Gold Coast/Palms area.

Thanks!

We are going to Fort Myers Beach the week at Easter, and we have heard all sorts of horror stories about the red algae on the beaches. We're considering cancelling (but losing our deposit). Any advice?

Trying to plan a trip with the guys from college - looking for ideas not only just regarding destination, but also maybe activities...

We've looked at maybe attending the Cigar Officienado "Big Smoke" in Vegas... but want other ideas too

Interests include sports, gaming, cigars, beer, fantasy football - outdoors stuff would also be an option

We're all located in Ohio and DC/Va. area - travel is not a problem, but closer to home might have advantages... all in our early 30s

Thanks!

A Spanish teacher
was explaining to her class
that in Spanish, unlike English,
nouns are designated as either
masculine or feminine.

'House'
for instance,
is feminine:
'la casa.'

'Pencil,'
however,
is masculine:
'el lapiz.'

A student asked,
'What gender is 'computer'?'

Instead of giving the answer,
the teacher split the class into two groups,
male and female,
and asked them to decide
for themselves whether
'computer'
should be
a masculine or a feminine noun.

Each group was asked
to give four reasons
for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that
'computer'
should definitely be
of the feminine gender
('la computadora'),
because:
1. No one but their creator
understands their internal logic;

2. The native language
they use to communicate
with other computers is
incomprehensible to everyone else;

3. Even the smallest mistakes
are stored in long term memory
for possible later retrieval; and

4. As soon as you make
a commitment to one,
you find yourself spending
half your paycheck
on accessories for it.

( THIS GETS BETTER !)

The women' s group,
however, concluded
that computers should be Masculine
('el computador'),
because:
1. In order to do anything
with them,
you have to turn them on;

2. They have a lot of data
but still can't think for themselves;

3. They are supposed
to help you solve problems,
but half the time
they ARE the problem; and

4. As soon as you commit to one,
you realize that if you
had waited a little longer,
you could have gotten
a better model.

The women won

I've heard Chelsea is poor and dangerous, but I've also seen that is is very affordable. My husband and I are considering buying a condo there, but would like to hear from a few that live there. We have been in Boston for about 4 yrs and are familiar with many other areas (Somerville, Cambridge, Boston, etc.), but don't know much about Chelsea.

Please keep in mind that I'm pulling a trailer with my honda accord V6. I've been told that if I take I75 it takes you up and down the mountains whereas if you take the recommended Google directions, it will be an easier ride as you will travel through the mountains.

I'm a 27 year old male radiography (x-ray) student graduating in June. I live in Wisconsin now and I'm looking to experince the NW. I love the outdoors! Hiking, mountain biking and golf are my favorites. I want a mix of outdoor activites along with cultural things to do. I would like to live in a reasonably priced area that is dog friendly. Good hospitals are a must! I saw that someone had mentioned a new income tax law. How does that effect people? Any input would be great. Thanks!
