There is a place in Burke-Avery counties --right on the county line --that is known as where u can see the "Brown Mountain" lights. There are wierd lights at night that move around on this mountain and legend has it that a slave is searching for his master. There was a song about it years ago by Tommy Fail who was on tv on the Aruthur Smith show--used to watch it every morning before the school bus came
