what city would you reccomend going to if you want to stand in the middle of utah, colorado, arizona and new mexico? (4 places a once)

You've got two choices.
Cortez, Colorado is about 40 miles northeast of 4 corners USA (where the 4 states join. (access to Mesa Verde NP)
Farmington, New Mexico is about 50 miles southeast of 4 corners.
Both have airline access and rental cars. The closest town is Tec Nos Pos, Arizona (Navajo Indian Reservation). You'll have trouble finding lodging and transportation to and from this town. Shiprock, New Mexico is probably the closest (30 miles) to 4 corners with a variety (if limited) services. It also has the advantage of being in site of 'Shiprock' a distinct peak in that part of the country.
