As others have pointed out, it is not likely, especially for a single Friday night. Your best bet is an apartment or hotel further away. Just look for something heading closer to 1st Avenue on the East Side or near West End Ave. on the West Side. Central Park is still within walking distance. I saw some on Hotel-Alternatives.com near those areas.

Try the Days Inn on 94 th St.& Broadway
1-212-866-6400
The Park is two blocks East. The #1 Subway - Broadway Local stops on 96 th & Bwy and the neighborhood is not all that bad.
With a creative use of the subways and buses you should get to where you need to go easily,
Oh yeah the price is $206.55

Hotel Mela, at 44th by Times Square for $209, good price for this time of year. See link:

I will be there next month, booked at the Beekman through Affinia Hotels website, studio suite for $159. Not bad, but on the east side, near the UN, too far away for some.

I don't think such a thing exists... especially in those areas... You could stay around Newark airport for less than $100, but it would take you 45 minutes (or more) to get to the city... Try Expedia or Priceline

Not a possibility, I'm afraid. Head into New Jersey and go over to midtown Manhattan by ferry via the city called Hoboken. Its way less expensive. Look into hotels via the internet. Trust me, I used to live in that area all my life.
