I work at The Gold Coast, the drinks are half as much there then the Rio and the Palms!
Ask for a boot at one of the Gold Coast Bars, they will run you about $13 and you can have anything you want, blended frozen iced or draft!

You bought your first drink downtown at the Fremont Street Experience and second on the Strip, hence the difference in price. NOTHING on the Strip is cheap. You might try the Orleans or Gold Coast.

We had that same problem when me and some of my friends were out there. The old strip does pour drinks for cheaper but the cheapest yard I have purchased in the new strip area was at Luxor in their restaurant called La Salsa (located on the 2nd floor inside the pryamid). They were about 18.
Their link is listed below.

Go to a grocery store and buy your own and drink don't ever spend money on drinks. Make the drinks in your hotel room. Buying the Yard drinks are Way too expensive. Even $17.00 is way too expensive for a yard drink....

Get a cheap one by making your own! They are a rip off... maybe go to the Mexican place in the NY/ NY, pay for the drink (and the 'yard') suck it down, and then go up to your hotel room and make a better one... much cheaper, more booze, and everyone will know hoe cool you are because you are drinking it.

Anything on the strip is EXPENSIVE! Why becuase of the tourist. You would be best taking a cab to the freemont street. It's about 5 miles mabe less from where you will be staying.

Yep, the poster who said there is a Mexican restaurant that sells them for around your price range and it is near the MGM grand. They have a cheap $3.99 breakfast that isn't so bad either. I was just there a few months back.
