I'm going to be visiting Chicago for a night or two (I live near Milwaukee, WI) at the end of March. I'm wondering if I should book way in advance on a site like hotels.com or wait for last minute deals on hotwire.com. Has anyone used this site with success? They have really great last minute deals, but it doesn't tell you the exact name or location of the hotel until after you book it.

Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

I'm looking at moving to Waterville or Augusta Maine, but i want to make sure it's a good area. From the information I've found off the internet it seems nice, but you can't believe everything you read. If anyone's ever lived around there or visited I would appreciate any input!

I'm driving out in a couple of days for my first trip there. I already have the hotel, gas, and food covered. I don't plan on going to any shows unless they are free. I was just wondering how much I should bring to gamble with. I was thinking about 400 bucks. What do you guys think?

Natives of Chicago! What's some inside scoops that the books don't necesarily tell you about? I hear there's a great Indian (as in India) section of the city.
