I'm looking at moving to Waterville or Augusta Maine, but i want to make sure it's a good area. From the information I've found off the internet it seems nice, but you can't believe everything you read. If anyone's ever lived around there or visited I would appreciate any input!

I live in Fairfield,Maine wich is about 10 minutes from Waterville. Waterville is a nice town but compared to the areas surrounding it like Fairfield Winslow Oakland etc... Waterville is a city. Waterville and Augusta are where most of the major stores in central maine are, this includes walmart, home depot and curcuit city. I have lived here for about 10 years now so oif you have any questions you can email me at 07jbitz(at)msad49(dot)org

Depends on what you're looking for. Maine is a beautiful state. Not much in the way of employment however unless you're close to the Portland area. Most of it is very rural and picturesque. It's basically the vaction destination of New England. The Waterville area is at the base of the route 201 corridor which is the gateway to some of the best skiing and snowmobiling in New England. Reasonable real estate. The coast line is some of the most beautiful in the world. I would recommend it.

Waterville is a great ski area... the last time I was there was about 10 years ago and then it seemed like a small town but full of activities since there are a lot of tourists and outdoorsmen.

Maine itself is very rural and small... make sure that you don't want a 7-11 on every corner and don't mind driving 30 minutes to the grocery store. (Yes, I realize not ALL of Maine is like this, but much of it is... I grew up in NH so I know!)
