As a generalization, I've had the best rates from Alamo (and can usually find some good rate discounts with a quick internet search for discount codes). However, I would also say that I've never spent longer waiting in line to get a car than many of the times at Alamo! Using a Costco discount code on my last trip, I rented with Thrifty - this price was better than Alamo, and my overall service experience was better.

However, the reality is, for 4-5 days, I don't think you will get to $100 or less. I think you can probably find a sub-cpmpact somewhere in the $16/day range... but, once you add tax and other fees? Maybe if you go for 4 days, but not 5. If you are staying on the strip you can probably get by with walking and shuttles (though I personally prefer the convenience of having a car even if I don't wind up using it that much).

Six people means you'll need a minivan, and I don't believe any car company will rent a minivan to an under-25 driver. Besides which, minivans aren't cheap to rent in the first place, and will cost probably double for a one-way rental.

Payless is cheaper than all the big name companies. I had never heard of it before, but it was cheaper than everyone else, so we went with it. We expected it to be very shady, but it was just like any other rental car company!! Also, you can always save money by not getting the super expensive insurance. You're in Vegas, why not roll the dice??

Booking thru an online retailer is the best way to go. You can secure a cheaper rate then if you just walked up to the counter and asked for it. orbitz.com or TravelWorm.com have the best rates on Rental Cars and a huge selection of vendors to choose from.

If you are planning on staying in the city then I would say dont even bother. The traffic is horrendous - you will get every faster by foot. Have a blast! :)
