My husband and I, in our early 60's, live in New Jersey, near New York. We wish to move for our retirement, and are thinking of Portland,Or, or Seattle,Wa. We find that, even at 15min from the city, we rarely take advantage of the activities in NY. We enjoy our area because it is safe, and we can walk to the supermarket and local libraray. However, the things we enjoy most are the Learning in Retirement classes at our community college, covering science, history, literature, etc. We enjoy monthly discussions of our local 'friends of Socrates' group. We would enjoy life more if there were more art and spirituality, perhaps Buddhism.
I am wondering if there are activities of a mentally stimulating as well as artistic nature in these cities, and where would our 'best fit' be? Some cities offer senior classes, but they end up to be innocuous blather rather than challenging learing experiences. Any suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good sites for financing breast implants or one where you automatically get approved?

Also maybe some doctors in Dallas would be good too? :)

Mousesavers.com backs up this website and says that they sell tickets at a discount and that they are Disney approved. I was wondering if anyone has been successful in buying them and using them? Any advice. And yes, I've already heard that ebay is a bad place to buy tickets.

I haven't been to Seattle in 20 years but loved it and have been waiting to visit again. Now I have a 9 yo boy and 10 yo girl and plan to take them summer of 2007. I'm on a VERY tight budget so I'm limited to the attactions and restaurants I take them. I need help people! I will be renting a car. We'll go to Pikes Place (of course) - drive to the Needle. What is another "necessity"? Here's what looked interesting in the visitors bureau:

*Woodland Park Zoo
*Seattle Aquarium
*Bite of Seattle
*Underground Tour
*Ride the Ducks
*Bainbridge Island
*Gameworks
*Japanese Garden
*Bug Safari

As I said - very tight budget so I can only take them to a couple of these attractions. What do you think are the MUST dos?

Also - do you know of any hotels that are cheap but safe and close to downtown?

Thank you for ALL your help people! Sincerely.
