Good luck trying to get a room in times square during new years eve.

46th and 47th street has some nice views, but then again I never attended the ball dropping.

Locationwise, you might want to try to get to 46th or 47th Streets...you could get a good view from there, despite the tons of peeps hanging out. Better bring some heavy clothing too if the temps fall below 40 degrees.

If you want to go to Time Square to see the ball drop at midnight, you should get there by noon. There will be police barricades and crowds by then. You need to get there early to get a good spot. I'd recommend 45th street and broadway.

do you be attentive to anybody who works in Reuters or the different development around there? in the event that they permit you up there, you will get a VIP non-crowded view. If no longer, then what's incorrect with being on the convenience of domicile with a advantageous drink and blanket, watching it on television?

You'd have to be in Times Sq really early. Other than that I'd say the best place is from your hotel room on tv.
