I was thinking it would be a lot of fun for my husband and I to run away for the weekend, but I have no idea where to go! We are near Pittsburgh, PA and would like to fly somewhere fairly close. I'm thinking Chicago would be nice, but somewhere down south would be nice too.

Hubby and I really aren't into the club scene, but we are both really into science centers, museums, and things like that.

Any ideas where to go and what we can do there??
(I think a budget of about $600 for 2 days would be good - that includes the flight, but I don't see the flight being that much if it's close enough)

It was leaving Atlanta Georgia at 1:32 On its way to PBI. We were flying at 39,000 ft. when I fell asleep.I awoke to the sound of the engines roaring! I could see and feel that we were going down fast. Then the Oxygen masks blew open and we were told to put them on. The pilot said that we had reached 9,000 ft and we no longer needed the masks. Do to "multable malfuntions we were making an emergency landing in Orlando." After talking to other passengers they were asleep also. One man said that there looled like water coming in the emergency door. There was a crew that came on before we took off in Georgia too? I have not heard or seen anything on TV or the newspapers about this. It was reported that the same flight on the 11th of Oct. was cleared to land and noticed that there was another plane taking off and pulled out of the way and circled and landed safely. This was far more news worthy. I feel that something is being swept neatly under the rug. Anyone heard anything?

My parents let me in on my Christmas present a little bit early this year, and told me that they are sending the whole family on a cruise to Alaska next summer of 2007. I'm not sure which cruise line or anything yet, but was wondering if any of you have ever been, and if so, what cities you would recommend I shouldn't miss, what excursions I shouldn't miss, etc. I already plan on hiking a glacier, doing the sled dog thing, but other than that, i'm pretty clueless on what Alaska has to offer. I'm not really into the nature scene, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

I'm going there for a long weekend in November and although I've been there twice before, I've never really had to plan anything. We'll be spending most of our time in Manhattan, but one day we'll be in Brooklyn. Any suggestions?

- On one end of town, you've got Prospect Point, where each year dozens of lost souls commit suicide by jumping over the American Falls to their imminent deaths.

- On the other end of town, you've got the former site of Love Canal, where an entire neighborhood was exposed to toxins because their homes were built on top of a chemical disposal site.

- And in between, you've got the slums:

Niagara Falls is a tale of two cities. The Canadian side is a clean, tourist-friendly city with bright lights and plenty of attractions. NFNY is a cold, post-industrial wasteland overridden with poverty, crime and despair. Boarded-up buildings, dilapidated homes, and dangerous, neglected slums make Niagara Falls the American ghetto at its worst. It's so bad that even Buffalonians will come here and say, "This place is a hole!" And I'm sure tourists from third-world countries do likewise.
