I was thinking it would be a lot of fun for my husband and I to run away for the weekend, but I have no idea where to go! We are near Pittsburgh, PA and would like to fly somewhere fairly close. I'm thinking Chicago would be nice, but somewhere down south would be nice too.

Hubby and I really aren't into the club scene, but we are both really into science centers, museums, and things like that.

Any ideas where to go and what we can do there??
(I think a budget of about $600 for 2 days would be good - that includes the flight, but I don't see the flight being that much if it's close enough)

If you like museums, go to DC. Drive to Gaithersburg, Md. and it should take about 4 hours. If you fly, it will take you more time than that by the time you drive to the apt early and finally get to where you are going. You can take the subway from there for less money than it costs to park in DC. Get off at the Smithsonian station and you will be in the middle of the mall with museums all around you. It should cost you way less than $600 for such a trip. Of course you can spend a lot more than that if you like. A nice hotel downtown and dinner can cost that.

You could fly or drive down to Washington, DC or take a train down this way. Tons of museums (Smithsonian, art museums, Spy Museum, etc.) and attractions and fewer tourists and lines this time of year. Bon voyage!

I fly a lot
600 is not enough for travel
you will spend 300 plus on airline tickets
and with it being so close, it could be more.
i would just check a lot of different destinations on various airline sites, and then go from there.
