I don't get it. You don't know the local rules of the road and in a lot of countries its more expensive to rent, and if you get in an accident you could go to jail? I'm American and this is one of those things about Americans I just don't understand.

okay so me and my best friend's birthay is a day apart(yay) and we have 4,000 to spend and we were thinking of going to L.A by our selves (since parents just gave us money and wont take us anywere) and our parents dont care what we do or were we do as long as their not involved in it. so we really want to go to L.A for coulple days by ourselves. so were wondering if we could get our own hotel room without our parents even being there.
were both turning 15 and our plans are a week after that.

I haven't flown since the new security regulations. I know about everything I can take and can't take on board in my carry on bag, except vitamins. Can I take vitamins on board as long as they're in the bottles?

The USA is now a Police State and as soon as the government commits another 9/11 you'll know what communism is like. ID cards must be carried. Roadside checkpoints. Guns confiscated. People put into camps. www.prisonplanet.com www.natvan.com it's time to get your passports in order. Get all your finances in order and get the hell out of this country. You'll want to be clear of these shores by 2009 . Europe is looking better all the time and is a lot cheaper to live.

So, I have this dream that I am hoping to develop into a plan in the next few yeard- backpacking around the globe: Beginning somewhere, staying there long as I like, then move on somewhere else, hopefully finding jobs on the way. I am ready to face cultural shock, extreme poverty and other conditions. The problem is, I have no idea how it works out with the bureucracy, visas and all. Has anyone done something similar? Where can I find more information? Do you think I need to have a strict plan and stick to it, or can I do as I wish?? Thanks in advance...

I am hoping to go to Chamonix, France on Monday flying into Geneva, Switzerland. However i have only 1 month left on my passport. Any idea if this is acceptable? I can also take a photo driving license but i am unsure if this is considered as a national european ID card.

After spending a couple of months in the States I'm flying back to Europe (with Delta). I now have a box (in size about 10x20x15") filled with extra things that I bought or got during my stay. I am now trying to figure out the best way to get it to Europe. I could check it in as an extra bag on my flight (which would cost around $100 according to the Delta website) or ship it via mail.
