When I was a child, my parents took us on a vacation to New Mexico to see White Sands, BUT, that was not the "coolest" place. Somewhere on the way their, or back, they took us by a small rocky hill that had a trail up it that you could walk, and, as best as I can remember, there were "prayer stations" or somesuch where there might have been a religious statue or inscription, and you could stop there and pray to God or reflect on what was presented to you. I know of only one other person that I "met" on the internet, years ago, who talked of it, and I was so very amazed that someone else had actually been there, since it never seemed anything fancy or commercial. I don't know how that hill got those "prayer stations" as I call them, on it, but it's got to be one of the most fantastic places I've seen, not because of its "fanciness", but because of its complete "drabness", except for the marvelous, MORE than marvelous "prayer stations" along the way to the top. I haven't been there in around 40 years, and I don't vacation much because of other things in life that take my attention, but if I could remember where it was, and it was still there, I'd not go another year without driving out there from northeast Texas and walking up and praying on that hill, just as my parents took us to back in the early 1960's. And that wasn't the reason they took us in that direction. They took us to see White Sands, New Mexico, and the Carlsbad Caverns, both of which were fantastic back then, but NOTHING could be as great as that small hill with those "prayer stations" as I call them. God Bless you.

I went to Mt. Saint Helen's last summer and that was pretty cool. They have all these stops on the way up to the mountain that give a history of what happened so that was a pretty cool place i visited.
