If you have it bring it with you.

As an American you DO NOT need a passport to travel to Canada by land or water. They changed the passport date (by land or water) from June 1st, 2008 to June 1st, 2009. All you need are two pieces of valid ID. You do, however, need a passport to travel by air.

You won't need a passport for driving to Canada until next year. Here's the US State Dept page on that: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.html

We say go ahead and get your passport so you're ready for next year or whatever trip you might like. You can down load an application and info from that site. Here's our page on passports: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/visas-and-passports.html

Happy travels... even if you don't travel the world... just remember that life is a journey... embrace and enjoy it! http://www.mousetourstravels.com
