We are going on a trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico starting in mid-December, and wondering what the average on the ground cost per week ranges from. We are trying to get away from the vacation hot-spots (Cancun, Cozumel, etc...) and plan on making our trip as bare-bones financially as possible. If anyone has vacationed there in the last few years could give us a good ballpark figure (and any amazing destinations ^_^ ), that information would be invaluable!

I am planning a trip to Mexico next year for just a week. This will be my first time going. Any ideas on which city to stay @? I'm interested in going to a beach and just relaxing while at the same time having time to party at night. Any ideas?

At my local mall the exchange rate was $1.00 USD = $10.44 Mexican Pesos.
At Bank of America $10.22 free shipping for exchanges over $1000.00 USD,
Wells Fargo $9.98 after shipping, and
Foreignmoney.com $9.82 after shipping.

Do you know of a website that offers a better exchange rate?.
