I'd love to take my wife fossicking for fossils for Mother's day tomorrow, but I'm unsure where to go. Searching the internet hasn't helped us much . We're based in Maitland and want to do it just as a day trip.

I am in my early twenties and from Canada. I have very good knowledge in timber-frame house construction and am good in business concepts, residential development economics and feasibility, etc. I don't have any dependents, which would make any move quite easy. I prefer to live somewhere where there is lots of sun, moderate rainfall, but little cloud cover on average. I would need to live in an area where jobs in construction are plentiful and the cost of living reasonable. It doesn't have to be a major city, but a minimum of 75 000 people is a must. From my research on the internet I'm thinking the southern coast of Queensland or south-east South Australia (Adelaide region), but I would like some peoples personal opinion. Can anyone help?
