Australian power is 240v 50hz which is the same as Europe but different from the USA which is 110v 60hz. A power converter will change the voltage but not the frequency so US electrical equipment will run slower. The TV will be OK from Europe but not from the USA. The NTSC system is incompatible with the Australian PAL system. DVD players will work.
You would be better off buying a TV and DVD player here. They are cheap. An Australian DVD player must, by law, be able to play DVDs from any zone so you can take an Australian DVD player anywhere. You can get one for as little as $50. Cathode ray tube TVs are very cheap as most people are switching to LCD or plasma.

I don't know - I guess it depends on whether it's from Japan, the USA, NSW, etc.
I'm guessing you're from the US. TV = Definietly not. DVD will if you have a power converter and it is multi region.

The things are so cheap to buy in Australia that it would be uneconomic to transport yours here.
Sell them or leave them in your home country & buy new ones here.
DVD players are as little as AUD50.
