The prevailing wind in summer across Australia is easterly. The high pressure systems are about 40°S. This means that the wind, the southeast trade wind, is coming off the ocean into Brisbane bringing moisture and rain. Brisbane has warm wet summers. Easterly winds into Adelaide are from the hot dry interior so Adelaide has hot, dry summers.

In winter, the high pressure systems move north to about 30°S. This brings southern Australia under the influence of the westerlies. Adelaide gets westerly winds off the ocean so it has cool, wet winters. Brisbane gets the westerlies off the land so it has mild dry winters.

Adelaide gets about half the annual rainfall that Brisbane gets.

It has snowed in Adelaide Before but its very very very rare!! Overnight the nights can get just below Zero Degrees Celcius. I have lived in both Adelaide and Brisbane.
Summer in Adelaide can get very hot. It's regularly over 30 degrees and a few days are over 40 degrees. It is not as humid as Brisbane.
Winter in Adelaide is similar to winter in Brisbane, it is cold and a bit rainy, sometimes it hails but it doesn't snow.
If you want specific statistics you could try the Bureau of Meteorology website.

I agree with Beanie, but South Australia is also known for being the driest state as well. But that is mainly to do with the outback of South Australia more than the city.
Brisbane is more tropical than Adelaide but I wouldn't give up living here for all the tea in china.
