Perth is LOVELY!!!!
dont listen to them they dont know what they are on about!!!
Perth used to be 'country' like try 50 years ago!!!
Perth is the place to be at the moment,
the pay is better in Perth than Brisbane and the beaches are nicer.
I personally do not like Sydney, already too many people and i found Melbourne really bland!!!
Brisbane is good if you like to surf and hang out at the beach because the gold coast is only 45 mins away.
Perth is for the working people who like to go on holidays!!!
Perth has also exactly what Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne has just a 41/2 hour flight to Sydney or Brissie!!! So its not really that far away!!! Whatever you choose just remember you dont have to stay in the same place if you do not like it!!
And good luck!!!

Perth has more of a "small country town" vibe then the major east coast cities (i.e. Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne). Brisbane people have a reputation of being more laid back then those from Sydney/Melbourne. Reasonable nightlife. Fortitude Valley is the place to go clubbing, Queen St area in the city for bars. Not too sure about the job market in Brisbane, but for casual/part time work, there are always jobs available in hospitality and retail. Most don't require too much experience. Weather? Brisbane can get bloody humid and bloody hot from about October to April. Averages around 30C maximum in summer but has been known to reach 38/40C periodically. Winter is milder, but in comparison to Sydney/Melbourne/Hobart, you couldn't say its cold. Max around 24C. Min 5C. Doesn't snow here. It's fairly easy to get around, good public transport system. It's bigger than Perth, but smaller than Sydney, so you've got that small city vibe without feeling like you're out in the sticks or lost in a concrete jungle.

Perth is getting very expensive and it is a long way from anywhere else. It has hot dry summers and cool wet winters. Brisbane on the other hand has warm wet summers and mild dry winters. Sydney is the biggest and most popular city in Australia with Melbourne close behind. My preference would be to live in Sydney or Melbourne before Brisbane or Perth. In fact I would put Perth as the last place I would want to live mainly because of distance from anywhere else. I have lived in most of Australia's capital cities at one time or another and have visited all of them many times.

To tenterfield, ummm why could Melburnians wish their summer season became like Brisbane's iciness?? 32 stages and sunny in Melbourne that's a suitable day in summer season or a 22 degree sunny day in Brisbane in iciness which could be seen a chilly summer season day. i like summer season yet i did not even discover Melbourne that chilly in any respect even in iciness once I lived there. And regrettably i'm not close to any coast like Brisbane and Perth are yet I want humidity over dry warmth any day!!!!!!!! do exactly not come to Mildura while you evaluate it quite is often stinking warm right here lol. xx

Ummm... That could be debatable, they most likely have some of the cheapest housing and rental prices but Melbourne has been voted best city to live in, and i reckon there 100% correct!
