We will be traveling in Bangkok with three children ages 6-12. The Lebua hotel in the Silom area looks quite impressive, but it seems to be geared toward the business and honeymoon crowd. I am wondering if they are put off by children. Has anyone with (or without) children stayed there before? Any impressions? Thank you.

I am from England and I am spending a week in Thailand with a Thai family for an authentic experience. I want to give them a gift as they are kind enough to let me stay with them. But I have no idea what to give as a present because of the difference in culture. Please help!

Has anyone recently stayed in the Silom area of Bangkok? We are traveling with children which means I will probably need two rooms. I see mixed reviews for the Dusit Thani and for two rooms it could get costly. The Holiday Inn and Tawana are cheaper, but is it a real drop in quality? Any recent experience would be appreciated.

I'm going to Bangkok (Thailand) in May for 1 week then flying to Phnom Penh (Cambodia) where i will probably be staying for 6months to 1 year.
My flight is booked to depart Heathrow in may and come back to England in October. On my flight slip it states that Thailand will require a tourist visa, will i have any difficulty getting this, i only plan on staying in thailand for 1 week.
When i get to Cambodia i'm gonna apply for a tourist visa for 1 month then extend it to a business visa. I've been told that i can do this unofficially and should be able to stay there for several months.
Please give me some advice.

Thanks
