The previous responder Margaret is right. I think it more like 10-12 minute ore more walk and then across the street. There is a elevated stairwell across the street right in front of the hotel. I don't recall a subway entrance on the south side of Phetchaburi road and Ratchadapisek/Asoke. I stayed at the Amari Atrium once and it was okay, not a 4 star hotel. I just checked the rate on www.asiarooms.com and I would not pay USD 99 per night for that hotel. It would be easier to stay at the Grand Mercure Fortune Hotel or The Emerald Hotel both on Ratchadapisek. And both are only a 5-7 minute walk or less to the subway station. And they are both USD 59 per night and both 4 star hotels. If you want convenience. I have stayed at both in the past year and they are both just as nice or nicer and for the price much more convenient if you are asking about the subway.

The Grand Mercure Fortune Hotel is right there at Din Daeng and Rama IX expressway. The Fortune mall and offices are connected to the hotel so, if you need anything it is a short airconditioned walk for restaurants, sundries or whatever you might need.

The Emerald Hotel is 2 stops north of the Grand mercure Fortune Hotel at Huay Khwang. Just as nice and they have a couple of 7-11 stores for sundry items. There is an outdoor market in the back streets. This is closer to the male entertainment. This was my favorite hotel till the rates went up. It takes about 12-15 minutes from the time you get on till the Sukhumvit Station that connects with the skytrain. To get to pratunam and MBK or Siam Square is about 30 minutes total time. Deduct about 5 minutes if you leave from Rama IX station near the Fortune Hotel. A cab to MBK can take 60 or more minutes around 5 pm. I have done both. Much less stressful with the subway and skytrain.

I will be staying at the Chaophya Park Hotel this next trip. Another 4 star hotel another subway stop away at Sutthisan station.

Personally I love the subway and skytrain. For the subway, buy a 200 baht card that is refillable. The keep 50 baht deposit on the card, so you can 150 baht which could last you a week and does not expire. It costs about 22 baht Huay Khwang to Sukhumvit Station

The skytrain for convenience, I buy a 100 baht day use card, you ride all day on the card. From Asok to national Stadium or MBK is 25 baht and back is 25 baht

Have a good trip.

You need to get off Tonlor BTS station, but you will have a long walk to New Petburi road where Amari is! Just Take a taxi which is cheap! Or if you in the hurry take a motor bike taxi!

For cheap air tickets originating from Bangkok, Thailand and Hotel reservations!

don,t know about a subway, there is a sky train, but the easiest way to get around is to bargain a fare before hand with a tuk tuk, that is a motor bike with a little carriage you sit in easiest way to get through the traffic there.it is horrendous traffic
