Did anyone wonder why this question was posted under Thailand category instead of United States? A genuine slip up? Or an intentional prank to generate some personal amusement?

50 States. 48 of them connected to each other, known as the lower 48, plus Alaska and Hawaii and 1 Federal district that is a sovereign nation(Washington DC)
The US also has quite a few territories, these are what I can Remember:
US Virgin Islands
Puerto Rico
Guam
Marianas
US Minor Outlying Islands(which is about 10 islands and atolls, like midway and wake islands)
American Somoa
The US also has a screwy thing called associated states, the only ones I can remember are Marshall Islands and Pulau, I think there's one more though.

The United States is divided into 46 states and 4 commonwealths. These are the same as other countries "provinces."

They are not called provinces in the US, they are called states. There are 50 states in the United States.

We don't have provinces we have states. 50 of them to be exact. 48 of them between the east coast and the west coast and then Alaska on the west coast of Canada and Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean.
