Thai people love kids so they might touch your baby or even pinch your baby's cheek. Tell them nicely not to do so if you don't like that. Other than that I think it's safe to travel in Thailand.
It sounds like you know how to get around and stuff so I think it's be more fun this time when you go there with your baby.
Have fun and have a safe trip.
=)

Fact is, the changes will only be in the major cities. With the economy recovering quite well, there had been a flurry of new construction going on. Most are trying to catch the boom while it last. Other than that, the countryside is very much the same.
As for malaria, it had not been a major issue for quite a number of years in Thailand now, especially in the major cities. The countryside with its farming irrigations will be another story.
Guess you are asking about visiting Thailand with your baby in tow. It should be alright. I have had families with babies who had visited the country with no problem at all. The place is still a nice place to be in.
You can look at a collection of some recent photos at http://www.visualthailand.com and see if you find any drastic changes since your last visit.
Have a nice stay, again.

You really need to define what area of Thailand you are thinking of? In Bangkok and surrounding areas it is most safe. The only unsafe areas are the (3) southern most provinces.
As far as coming with a baby, medical care is excellent, prescriptions are extremely cheap. All innoculations are available here same as US, so your baby can be protected the same.
I have a young son and the Doctor has never failed yet to get him cured of what ever it is might be ailing him. Sometimes I am very overprotective and go to the Doctor for any little rash or anything.
Are you planning to continue your studies online or attend school in person? Attending in person you would have to think about what to do with your baby while you are in school.
I am very impressed with the school my son attends Kindergarden at, Siam International. Class size is only 13 students compared to 55 or 60 in public schools but it is also very expensive compared to most things in thailand.
www.visualthailand.com is an advertisement free website with 1000's of current photos and stories about Thailand.
You will learn and see how much Thailand has changed since your last trip.

Good luck

The US Center for Disease Control recommends the following innoculations:
Hepatitis A and B
Japanese Encephalitis
Malaria
Rabies
Typhoid
Tetanus-Diptheria
Measles and Polio
Of they above vacinnations, your child should be subjected to most of them. Just to be safe.
Keep in mind that Thailand is still somewhat Third World. Using tap water is not safe, the Chao Phraya River is polluted, hundreds of thousands of fish were killed upstream recently. And the 3 provinces of Thailand in the south are not safe. And things are not settled with the government.
In other words, it may not be the best place right now. Maybe in another year, take a look.
Other than that it's a great place to visit.
Read the www.bangkokpost.com, good newspaper for neutral news on what is going on.
