I think you will find your self in the Typhoon season,, or, at the beginning of it. I would also be aware of pck pockets, and con artists,,buy NOTHING of value, on the streets, and do NOT< Too much advice to remember! I wll be in the Philipines, hopefully in july,, and have this wireless lap top with me. I hope you will save me e-mail address, in case I might be able to help you. You will only be a very short flight away. And i have a way with getting things done,,, and correcting crooked cops. Do NOT trust a cop, in asia,, it is a thief, with a badge,,simple as that,,period. expect beggars,,mostly professionals, that work for a boss, who gets most of the take,,and makes them slaves, to do as they are told, or expect a severe beating,,most of these will be kids, dressed in rags, to evoke your sympathy. It is a con. I hate to be so negative,, because I dearly love the Philippines, in spite ofthe problems, and will retire there soon,,but,, Thailand is not much different. Now, if youwere going to the Philippines, I could give you a grand tour, as well as teach you some of the language! That place is amazingly lovely, and I have many freinds there.
I even carry Phil money in my wallet, because it is a comfort, even though worthless, here in america! I do hope you have a wonderful time in Thailand, but,,please do be very careful!!!!

You should have a great time, it will be hot and you will get those tropical rains, it may come down cats and dogs but it's usually for a short period of time. You can swim and take a boat to phi phi and other islands, go snorkeling, and diving also lay on the beach and get a massage.

As for Steve, you sure you were in the right country, this is Thailand not Burma.

Congrats. You sure can go swimming when you are there. And yes, Phi Phi will be a must for you to visit. Also have a trip to Krabi beaches from Phi Phi. And other island resorts too in that area.

♡*•.♡ Phuket's idyllic tropical weather pattern makes it a favourite with beach-lovers. There are, broadly speaking, two seasons: the dry and the wet. The dry season begins in December and lasts until April, when rainfall starts to pick up again. Wet or dry, temperatures remain remarkably consistent, nestling around 30°C (86°F), with an ever-present dash of humidity thrown in for good measure.about Ko Phi Phi, The long & nice beaches with emerald waters and remarkable sea- and bird-life are sublime, it's really nice for excursionists. ♡*•.♡

You'll be fine, as long as you don't go with the paranoid guy above - I know he means well, but Phuket gets tons of tourists and is not known as a crime area... As to your specific questions -
1. you may get some passing showers.. keeps it all green - but its tropical stuff, so, not a big deal..
2. yes, I can swim, but not great - thanks for asking
3. Phi Phi - Krabi - sure, get out and around a little
4. don't feel compelled to do anything more than relax but there will be nice day trips available in the area, most likely from your hotel as well - have fun!!

Visit Phuket, then continue with Krabi Province. It's worth to visit also. Krabi is now very famous. I have been there last year October. There are many foreigners there. Since I ever been last 2 years ago. It was different from this moment.

So i would recommence you to visit Krabi if you have time.

Enjoy
