tons of people at my school are all japanoholics. They're chinese but they're so into japanese stuff and anime that they already dress like a japanese high school student. Not to mention they relate everything to japanese stuff and they think they're living in Tokyo. When I talk to them they would immediately burst "omoshiroi!" (interesting) "kakoi!" (cool) whereas they can use normal english or chinese.

I respect their hobbies but they dont have to go that far and be irritating. Why are these people like this?I personally am an admirer of japan and I studies japanese for years but I never became like that.

I'm looking for advice from people living/with living experiance in Japan. I've done some research already, but would like to know any tips/things I should be aware of when I move there.

I've lived in Canada my whole life and would also like to know if there is things that would be found offensive in Japan that would not be an issue here? I want to make this experiance as smooth as possible and would love some advice.

I'm an expert on fencing, and I do want to learn this exotic Japanese arts of swordmanship.

What inspired me is the movie Kill Bill, watching how the Japanese really appreciate their swords ... Japanese swordmanship is very different form her western counterpart. There's something that I can't explain in words....

In short, where could I learn and master this Samurai swordmanship? Should I go to Japan directly here?

PS: I know about Kendo, another Japanese martial arts using bamboo as weapon. No, I mean a real Samurai sword here....

And BTW, is it legal to bring Samurai sword everywhere in Japan? Because from what I see in Kill Bill, it seems that the Japanese doesn't mind to take their sword with them in public places (airport, night club, etc....). Is it true then?

I know that Japan has quite a large population for a country of it's size but i was just wondering are all the houses small? Would you find anyone who owns a mansion with a swimming pool or even a four bedroom house with a garden? Or does everyone just cram into small apartments and homes? I'm sure there has to be some spacious homes there? Does anyone know?

My partner recently got a job in Japan, but the company does not give out double-rooms to couples unless they are both working for that company.

They suggested that he move down first, then find a apartment for both of us.

How difficult will it be for him to find one? He speaks -very- little Japanese (still learning). Would a landlord accept extra payment with rent and allow both of us to share the single room offered by the company?

Hi,
Japan is said to have one of the lowest frequency of lovemaking in the world.
Japanese women are among the most beautiful in the world.
Yet Japanese men seek sex elsewhere - Thailand, Phillipines, Bali, ...
Why such circumstances? Even in the streets and buses of Tokyo, I find most beautiful women unaccompanied. I resist the temptation to talk to them as I don't want to say anything inconsiderate by mistake. But Japanese men need not have such hangups.

At the moment I'm tossing up between april (with the cherry blossom festival/the nicer weather) or december (with christmas, new years and the snow).

I'm considering applying to the International University of Japan for my MBA. I'm from the U.S. and would like to live/work in Japan. However, I want to make sure that if I ever leave the degree will hold-up elsewhere. It seems like a great program, created with Darthmouth's Tuck School of Business and is entirely in english. Thoughts?

Ghana Chocolate bars are sponsoring a contest. The deadline is Feb. 29, 2008, and there are winners every month. But what exactly do you win? There's a prize, and there's a lottery.

And how do you check if you've won. There's a website (in Japanese, of course) and a number written on the inside of the chocolate box. Just go there and enter the number? If internet is free, will they charge me extra?

Thanks for any help.
