More power to you, but I wouldn't lose any happiness over what the others are doing. Many people around the world act "American", "British", "Chinese", "Japanese", etc. It may irritate you but many people have infatuation with cultures other than their own.

Just about everyone looks back on their high school days and feels embarrassed about some fad or fashion they adopted at the time. I went to high school in the 1980s so I had a mullet and enjoyed break dancing. I wore warm-up suits all the time, and baseball sunglasses that flipped up. In retrospect that all seems silly-I'm sure the Japanophiles will get over it as well. Just as my tastes migrated from Grandmaster Flash to Miles Davis over the years, some of the magna enthusiasts will eventually enoy Natsumi Soseki or Murakami Haruki. That's not a bad thing at all.

Yes, like someone said, it happens all over the world. Like in Japan, anything with English words on it is cool.
Lots of Japanese wear T-shirts with English that they don't even understand (well neither will a native English person cos the English on the tees just don't make sense!)
A piece of English newspapers becomes interior decor in a Japanese home.
There will always be people like these so my advice is take it easy.

Ahh I hate when people say it like that. Its not acting like a group of other people. Its being part of a certain pop culture or embracing another culture.
It irritates the heck out of me when someone says black "acting white" white "acting black". What the hell does that mean?! Somebody please explain in grave detail what "acting a certain ethnic group" means, because I am sure you're gonna run into some killer racial stereotypes if you do.
[Edit] Anyway going back to answering the question. Maybe they just have a love for the culture and like embracing it. I know some go a lil overboard, but they'll even out later-on. I personally have never gotten too into Japan pop-culture groups. Just enjoying the language and those awesome shoes.

Don't let it get to you. Hope you realize that many of us in the world are "fans" whether it be sporting teams, music artists, or entire cultures/countries.

People are like that all over the world. Here in the US a lot of white school kids try to act black. A lot of cultures have become very westernized. It's part of human nature, I suppose.

Because you will get some kind respect when people think you are Japanese.
Many Chinese have Japanese name such as Yuki, Yumiko etc. even though they are 100% Chinese.

Same reason blacks try to act "white", and the same can be said for whites who try to act "black"...If it bothers you so much , just ignore them. They're not hurting anyone.
