I'm not talking about what the value of my answer is.
I can't believe this chosen "best" answer reflect the fact.
Or am I thinking too much?

What I want to say is BEST answer should reflect the truth. But this "best" answer is obviously not the fact. I don't mind whether my answer is best or not, but I can't agree with distorting the truth

As the voting system is so open to abuse by people creating multiple Avatars and voting for themselves I don't care about getting Best Answer by voting, I much prefer to get Best Answer by being Chosen by Asker. That makes me feel that someone has really read what I have to say and thinks it is worth something. That makes me feel good. If I get it by voting I only feel so-so. I wish Askers would choose a best answer more often. If people take the time to write answers I do not think it is unreasonable for the Asker to take a minute to choose a best answer.
However, my first reason to write answers is not to win 10pts. I write answers for different reasons like helping people if it seems the Asker has a genuine problem. Sometimes I write an answer because writing it helps me find out more about a topic that interests me. Writing an answer and reading other peoples answers helps me to think clearly on a particular topic that before I only had a grey idea about because I had not had to write it down. Often I write an answer an then, because I had not carefully considered a topic before, I don't post it because when I see it in writing I can see my idea is wrong. By writing, whether it be here or somewhere else, my brain becomes clearer and stronger. I don't care about 2, 10pts or whether the best answer that is chosen is true or not.
Imagine what would happen if the Best Answer was always actually the best one? Yahoo Answers would become too powerful as a database of information. As Yahoo is now part of big American business, having a private company control of such a powerful database would be extremely dangerous in terms of freedom of speech. If the best answer on Yahoo Answers was always the best one, who would look at other sources of information on the web?

What I think happened is The asker didn't choose that person as best answer what happened was the 6 day limit or whatever ran out. Then its up to the voters to choose best answer and then that person voted himself as best answer because the asker didn't choose someone that's what happened. I hope this answer will help you sleep better tonight oh an try not to dwell on those things k. ; ) And in that case that was not the best answer.

I agree with others who say you can't take Best Answer too seriously. The askers and voters choose whatever THEY think is best; it:'s not up to the answerer.
That's especially so with the question you mentioned, because how common something is highly subjective. I personally would have chosen twikfat's answer.

That happens quite often, actually. In this case, the voters chose a bad answer ("voters" could all be the same person, though), but sometimes the asker also chooses a dumb answer.
Occasionally it is ignorance of the asker/voter, so they choose someone who SEEMS to know what they are talking about. Sometimes certain people have grudges and refuse to vote for specific users, often people cheat to gain points and have two accounts so that they can give themselves best answer no matter how dumb it is...
There are many possibilities. It irks me to see such answers chosen, as well, but often it can't be helped...

what matters to me is whether the answer could satisfy me. unless a person writes down a question just for a sake of typing a question, an answer suppose to really help the asker.
so if an answer satisfies your expectation it's not too important if it's not chosen as 'best' answer.

I guess the dilemma is would you rather have the asker decide or many other people who may or may not have a real interest in the outcome?
Of course it may suck that you feel you had a great answer but even in real life the best person doesn't always win.

That's the sad fact about the power the majority. Sometimes, the majority are retarded.
If it really bothers your consience or something, you can always try Emailing the asker and let them know the facts.
Peace.

that happens all the time.
there are lots of trolls and some people give thumbs down for the truth. they just either cannot accept the truth or just hate japan / japanese or some other people. leave them alone.
looots of people are checking japan section coz they want to know what is happening in japan. if someone says something against their country they just give tumbs down to her/him.
they are uneducated brazen.
there are some people who really want best ans. she/he always vote her/himself. she/he always check other ans and keep changing theirs. if they realize that somebody else is on top then they delete their ans to enable them keep their percentage.
i really didnt like them before. but not now.
i dont care
y!a is not the real world.

I would say none of them were good.. the question OR answers. After reading them all, I still don't know what Boku is. Wikipedia says it's a drum played by bare hands. Huh??
That makes the question you're talking about & all the responses even more confusing. A good answer would have given readers a clue as to what the whole thing was about. I'm still confused.
Now MY curiosity is up. Please explain when you resolve this question. Thanks!

Thanks to Pink Aka! You're going to get my vote!
Secondary answer to asker: You're right in that truly best answer ISN'T always what the asker wants the answer to be! So, they will choose the answer that validates their belief!
And a secondary comment to the asker:
