Sometimes, I find people gave thumbs down to some answerers for "I do not know why" reasons, so, I'm very curious and I just want to ask those who regularly give people thumbs, and hope you would explain to me a bit about their rating systems.

For those who always get the thumbs, ... be yourselves and if you are happy about it, who cares!

I've been blocked here on Y/A Korea, and have been unfairly flagged as well by someone who doesn't like my answers. The last one I gave was a simple statement that kimchee is an acquired taste. Gastromically, I said, Korea is Asia's Germany, as in Europe. I was emailed that my reply was offensive (?) and then blocked.

Is this a closed forum then? Am I supposed to come here ONLY if I agree with everyone? Heck, I DID agree -- I said it was an acquired taste. How would I know if I HADN'T ACQUIRED THE TASTE????

Are all the people like that here? Is this how Koreans and people who like Koreans are? To cowardly flag someone, to block someone, and to email someone and not give the chance for a reply? Is that how you are? Is it any wonder, then, why I might be skeptical?

Okay, I won't comment here on this forum any more. Fine. But if this is how you are then you ARE a pretty nasty people.

I'm bound to Japan a few hours from now and up to this moment I am agonizing over whether to bring my binder full of CD-ROMs.

All of my CDs contain computer data; from Office documents, video clips, sound files, to electronic books, most o which are downloaded over the internet.

I'm mostly concerned about piracy issues here, and I really don't want to jeopardize the opportunity to work there in Japan, but I badly need to bring those stuff.

Please help me.

I need to know, so if anyone here had the same experience please tell me what to do.

I know they have them in bigger cities where there is a Korean population; how do you think they would go over in a town of 10-20 thousand people where there is no exposure to Korean culture?
Many bars have karaoke, but people usually get up and sing only one song. I am talking about full Korean style. You, some friends, some booze, a few thousand songs, and a private singing room.

We live in the philippines so we don't have winter. I have experienced snow when i was in europe BUT my brothers still haven't. We are planning to go to China next month which i believe is winter time. Which part of china gets thick thick snow? I don't wanna disappoint my brothers. Although part of our itinerary is to see the great wall which is already "great" enough BUT of course it would be really nice if they can see some snow too.

What with the kid who had the "heart attack" in Nagoya, match fixing allegations, the guy who skipped out on the exhibition tournament with a fake injury, Akebono's lame post-sumo career, etc. etc. is sumo going down the tubes? Or has sumo always been rigged, always had brutal bullying, always had guys who fake injuries, etc. , but now we just hear about it because of the internet, weekly magazines, etc. In any case, I don't blame kids for passing on a grand sumo career.
