i typed in my real name in the search box in this link
http://www.bostonuk.com/name_meanings.php?f=Ayr

and got this:
Sensitive, friendly and kind you look for peace and beauty in your environment and relationships. People like to be around you because of your charm and generosity and because you always generate a happy atmosphere. You have a fairly traditional approach to life and have a strong attachment to home, family and loved ones. With your creative imagination you have potential to be successful in the the arts.

hmm... quite an analysis. i really am drawn to the arts & i thrive on balance, beauty & serenity. i am sensitive of others around me & a very loyal friend. i love my family and i am fiercely protective of my loved ones. and yeah, one can say that i am creative because i love to write and to create and re-create beautiful things...

it could be coincidence though... as i said before in one Q,
"I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul..."

Interesting question, ms annabelle. Whether we do it consciously or unconsciously, I do believe that our names have some bearing on SOME of the choices we make. I'm not referring to life-changing decisions but more on day-to-day simple choices like where to go shopping and with whom --- "I'd rather go with Anita and Aida to the Araneta Center rather than with Evelyn or Teresa." Could it be because I'm going to a place that begins with an "A" and so I prefer to be with friends whose names begin with "A" which is ALSO the first initial of my name??? Weird coincidence? Maybe...or maybe not. ha ha ha Read on ---

I read that article this morning and I tried to figure out what's on my name & initials but can't think any of it. The choices i made in my life has nothing to do with it, for my future. Maybe it's just our positive way of thinking influence our choices in life...:)

i dont think if it really influence our choices, but the truth is, it plays a great part in our character..then lately, our becoming.

if you read Bible, Israel (one among the sons of Isaac) is once called Jacob-his name means deceiver..and he lives with his name. He deceive his brother Esau (took his brother's birthright), his Father (pretending to be the eldest), his father-in-law twice (subtle cheating). But as Jacob wrestles with God till dawn, and give all his might to win His blessing...God change his name into Israel - Thus, Israel means “one who struggles” with his humanity to claim God’s promises or “over-comer.”

Sometimes we never knew why we act this way or that, then we could trace it out by what does our name signifies...is it a curst or a blessing to us or people around us?

But it may not mean that if our names has a negative implication, we just sit down and let it come to pass..we should seek to improve our character.

Only few people (nowadays) thinks about the essence of giving names to their baby according to its meaning..almost everyone is naming their babies after a moviestar, a hero, or next to his father's, etc..

meanings connote the character, not the choices..
