Older generation would and that's present in any race. Dating looking for marriage with people should not be linked with race and race should not judge social status. Its not just Koreans doe I mean im black and i brought all races of women home, latinas, Persians, white I was condemned. But at the end of they day thats not what mattered. To summarize, some korean men would but thats not all. Korean men tend to attract a lot of different races of women doe because of its fashion industry, music..

Actually, the racism is institutionalized.
When Koreans marry, divorce, have a kid, die, or such as that, they have an entry in their Family Census Registry. It is a very exact record of the family tree.
In the Registry there is a line for who people marry, whether it starts a new registry, etc. When foreigners marry they do not go on it and they do not become the head of a new family. Instead the wife (I am not sure how it goes for a Korean man marrying a foreign woman) remains in her father's household and she can opt for a line in the remarks section that says she married a foreigner. Or she can decide to make no record of the marriage at all.
Since my daughter is a mudblood, on her Family Census Registry it shows that she has no father. (Especially odd since I am now a single father.) Also, they changed her last name to her grandfather's. Mind you, she was 3 years old before she was ever registered, so she had all the US documentation (SSN, passport, birth certificate) already. It did not matter; she became a new person.

V-man and He Li both have good answers...
Most of the younger Koreans I know do not worry about Korean women dating outside of their race. However, one man I know does mind and he cites the ever-popular myth that V-Man mentioned regarding homogeneous culture here.
I think, a more popular notion is that women here want to date an educated man who plans to go overseas to school/university/job for a few years. (this usually results in a higher icome bracket)

There are two main reasons:
1) the false belief that Korea is a homogeneous nation.
In 2005, 14% of marriages in Korea were interracial. In addition you have thousands of interracial couples dating. The notion that Koreans only date Koreans is still alive and well (especially) in men aged 50 and up (from my experiences in Korea).
2) shortage of women.
There is a preference for boys so there are more boys than girls. With this shortage, there are not enough women for the Korean men before losing more Korean women to foreigners. That's why men are already importing wives from poor countries like Vietnam and the Philippines.
These are two main reasons without diving into discrimination and prejudice. I don't even want to go there.

Yeah, its the same way with blacks dating whites or Asians. Funny tho, they seem to think everyone should be equal....except when we date.

They don't feel resentful when American man dates with Korean woman!!!
Maybe the person you met is unusual.
It's quite true that international marriage or date is not quite popular but Koreans don't really matter.

Korea and it's people are about 100 years behind in culture and society. The men have a possessive behavior over the women and when a white man or any other nationality dates a Korean woman it is seen as an abomination before God. It is seen as unholy and unclean. It is not accepted as appropiate behavior.
