...it is SO hot in JHB today! I am sweating!!! What is the weather like in other parts of the country? They said we are getting a cold front from CT, but let's hope they were wrong! I want to enjoy the last bit of African sun before I leave.

I have two options. My mom and dad haven't seen their grandchildren in over a year and they wanna visit. Which is ok. But I have some credit card debt that I pay off monthly and can finish paying off one card right now with that money. Even if I payed their way over, I would still be able to come up with the monthly payment. The children miss their grandparents and likewise my mom and dad miss them. They haven't seen where I live now and wanna see the new place. Which is better? Let them come over and spend some quality time with my family or wait till January and go to SA , with one credit card paid off in full. The answer sounds straight and easy, but think about the kids that will not have anything to look forward to this summer vacation!

Is your South African spirit dampened by the Springboks' latest defeat against New Zealand? How do you feel? Are you angry, disappointed or just plain oblivious to the fact that we suffered two straight losses. Are you still cheerful or do you feel we should just go home and forget there even is a Tri Nations? I just deleted the game against the Aussies without watching it and started to download the one against the Kiwi's from kuduclub.com, but saw the score by mistake on My Yahoo. I stopped the download immediately!

After travelling with two South African girls for over a month, we said goodbye... and they both kissed me on my mouth! (fortunately they were good looking blondes). I've never found someone to tell me if this is a common practice between South Africans. Please comment!

I live in Korea and having a barbeque means grilling a couple of meat slices (like bacon) on a gas stove. This they do at a restaurant. But I like to braai big steaks and I buy mine from an American wholesale group. I recently got a roster the size of a camp stool (the biggest available here) and some wood. The neighbors are all vegetarians and don't like the smell of burning meat. What do I do? And what kinds of meat are easy to braai, quick to get off the grill and don't stink up the place. The best meats here are from Australia. I wanna keep in good with the neighbors. Any South Africans here that know the secret to having a good braai with so little to work with?

I just saw the Boks lose 49 to 0 in the Tri Nations match against Australia. What in the name of all that's holy is going on? It all started with Diesel coloring his hair and cutting it off in the same week. Then all the negative news on the 2010 World Cup. Now this? Aigooooooo! What's wrong with SA Rugby this time? I'm not there and don't know. I just read what I can off the internet. The folks at home didn't want to talk about it.

Between Durban and Cape Town, which do you think have the best beaches and everything that goes with life on the beach? I plan to go home in January of next year (2007) and wanna visit Diesel and Dragongirl, but really wanna spend most of my time (2 out of 3 days) at the beach. I'm gonna spend most of my vacation in Cape Town (a month). Do you think that's a good idea or should I just go to the beaches in Cape Town?
The reason why I ask is because I need to plan ahead and save up for an additional 3 days in Durbs.

ANY OPINIONS WELCOME...EVEN IF YOU JUST WANNA COMMENT ON THE MAIN QUESTION.

This was a great South African song and it's a nice way to teach kids some phonics. I would love to hear how you guys translate this classic into English. I want to teach it to my kids this summer vacation. It doesn't matter if it's not the original lyrics. Something like: "Sarah said Sarah would sing a song for Simon...." You get my point? Let's see how creative David, Diesel, Kim, glynis18, orion, Dragongirl and all you other beautiful rainbow people really are.

Our school in Korea plan to have a summer camp in two weeks. My theme is holidays, but we have set aside two afternoons for games. One afternoon for water sports and the other for indoor games. The teachers have asked me to play traditional South African games and I need some advice on this. I have lots of games in mind, like a wheelbarrow race and pin the tail on the donkey, but these are not traditional South African games. Do you have any ideas and are there even some games played by only South African kids? The kids are young and between the ages of 8 and 10.
