Well I think it all depends on the girls I guess. I hug and kiss all my relatives and close family friends when we say hello or goodbye, as well as my friends who I am close with, but mainly hugs for friends.
If I wasnt going to be seeing someone for a long time I would defintely give them a kiss, even if just on the cheek.
Some people are more open with that kind of thing though, so maybe it was friendly or maybe it was something more;)

South African blondes are all good looking, there is no "fortunately" about it.
Surely this didn't get you worried, did it?
You might as well decide to come and stay over here in South Africa so that you get more free kisses almost everday...lol.
This only symbolizes the friendliness of the people in this country.
Hey SA girls! Restrict your friendliness to hugging and kissing only. No below belt!

South African has different ethnic groups Blacks,Whites,Indian and Coloured people.
Thats not common to be kissed in the mouth but I guess your friends have developed passion over you, or you have been good enough to them to say you deserve a kiss! Lucky you!!!or probably they have back ground of Italian or French culture.
In the black community:shaking hand is preferable but I have not come across kissing in the mouth except for young generation developed hugging habits.
Whites, they do kiss in the mouth between family or sometimes close friends, hugging also is very familiar.
Indian, Christian will shake hands, hug, kiss in the Chic's. Hindu will shake hands but sometimes a woman will stand aside and just smile at you. Muslims are very conservative, they will offend even for a close male friend to shake a hand.

Everybody has their own preference - and some culture's believe that you should not kiss someone on the mouth but me, personally, as a South-African girl - if you're a good enough friend and I believe you won't take advantage of me...
SMACK & SMOOCH! There you go - kisses for you!

Hi, we greet good friends and family hallo and goodbye with a kiss on the mouth. But it is not common between just acquaintances. Its a sign of trust and caring between two people i think. We're a very friendly country you know. Hope you visit SA sometime..

No we do not greet or say good bye to somebody with a kiss. We only do that we know them very well as in a family member or relatives etc etc. From my opinion those girls were interested in you and had the hots for you!

Yes they do. It's a sign of closeness vs complete strangers. Relatives such as female cousins do the same. It's not a lesbian issue. Women there are very affectionate towards each other and will often hold hands and or walk arm in arm. It's the Flemish/Dutch custom that has carried over from many years ago.
