White women were given the right to vote in 1930.
All Blacks were given the same right in the 1990's.

What's wrong with "gobears3454"? Why did he even bother to answer? And "auntienaw" didn't even realize she was answering a question in the South African catogory. How stupid can one be?

Only whites over the age of 18 were allowed to vote before the 1994 referendum - this was not restricted. From 1900 to 1930 only white men were allowed to vote, after 1930 white women were also allowed to vote - In 1994 all people with an ID document and citizens of SA were allowed to vote -

Yes as long as they had a South African passport. Immigrants from anywhere in the world who had lived there for ever were not allowed to vote unless they became SA citizens.

In the US, black men actually had the right to vote before white women did. I don't know about South Africa though.

No. Women were first given the vote in New Zealand, way before the States.

In the USA, black men were given the right to vote before any woman--white or black!!
