I'm going for 2 months. I have done a lot of the touristy things when I have been there before i.e. Table Mountain, Waterfront etc. Will have a car so doesn't have to be in the centre.

What or who is African? Is being African now racially exclusive? Am I not African, because of the color of my skin? I was born there, I grew up there. I know no other home. The land talks to me. My soul finds peace there. I am only truly at home when I stand in front of the mother city and look out over the ocean. But I am white, so I am told that I am European. I don’t know Europe. I have no family there. I don’t even know anyone who lives in Europe. Yet I am European due to the color of my skin!? Will Smith comes to South Africa and says that he is home. The man grew up in the States, but is more African than someone who has lived their entire life there, just because I am not black?? So the distinction is based on the color of your skin? Isn’t that EXACTLLY what we worked so hard to get rid of: RASISM???? I look and I see people, not skin colors, religions or differences, but variety. GOD BLESS AFRICA!

What South African do you think is a pioneer in his or her field and introduced something new to the South African way of life. Or what South African strikes you as a leader in any other field other than that? This question is open to anyone. Even if your father or mother is South African and a pioneer in his/her field, I would like to hear of them.

this web page is sure not a good publicity for S.A. but the truth is the truth, and it must come out somehow.
It's not as I pictured it, and what I heard previously... I sure need a gun there :)
In Europe I think they would have brought the army out by now...
And who are those bastards who're doing this? From the articles I got that mainly black guys, and most of the crimes are hate crimes? How many white people live there anyway? On a page I found 9%.
What a world we live in... I saw some videos too, about farm attacks, rare violence. Here only a psychopaths would be capable of such thing.
And S.A. will not hold the Football Wc in 2010? Shame. But I would get there some day anyway. S.A.still remains the most interesting country from Africa.

I am going to take an airport shuttle bus from the Johanesburg international airport for the center of Pretoria. I wander if it is safe.

And I heard the shuttle bus offered a service of taking us to where we stay in Pretoria. Is it true and is it also possible to ask to go to the coach staion in the city instead of going to the hotel?

If you have an idea, please let me know.

I mean, as a South African, this category is where I belong. However, I'm not good at speaking and understanding Afrikaans. Most of the questions and answers in this category now come up in Afrikaans. In that case I really have to shut up - No choice. And if not, what makes him worth all that money? Will he be able to prove his worth in time or can we already assume that this was a mistake?
