We are going to Hawaii for Christmas. Some friends there would like for us to bring a little Florida beach sand to her, approximately 5 lbs. Will the TSA allow this to go in the luggage underneath?

I want to fly in from NYC. They tell me there isn't an airport less than 3 hours away and you might as well go by train. Surely there's an airport nearby. Any insights?

My husband and I are looking for a good vacation spot in Florida to vacation this summer. We'll have 3 kids, a 4 year old, 3 year old, and a 6 month old, so somewhere that would also be family oriented. We live in Florida ( Clearwater Beach) specifically, and have done all the "local" attractions as well as we have been to Orlando several times and don't want to do theme park type stuff.

We dont really know where we want to go, but only want to deal with a days drive, between 6-12 hours at the most.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I made this short video of my trek in the Sumarian Gorge, Crete. When you view it ,it's like surfing up all the great views over an eight hour hike .

Would you call this Surf-Hiking ?.

Maria Montessori said it. Do you agree? give me your peace sayings and your wish for the new year.
I think that this is the last time I'm writing in this section, so allow me to make a wish:
Let's find peace in our hearts and teach nations the beauty of peace.
Merry Xmas, Kala Hristougenna (Καλά Χριστούγεννα) to everyone!
Happy New Year!!!!!!

Okay, so no jewelery or flashy watches, no fanny packs ("Hello, I'm wearing plain clothes to fit in and this is my fanny pack!"), take the taxi, keep an eye out, try to be around or people, try to get around with a friend if you're bringing one. Easy.

But I'm wondering:
1.) If I'm in Copacabana, Leblon, or Ipanema, is it still as dangerous? Even in these upscale neighborhoods, I still can't go about shopping, in Ipanema for example, and be more relaxed?
2.) There's a jogging/biking trail running along those beaches, right? When I'm jogging, will I still be a target? Assume I obviously won't be jogging with an MP3 player or anything.. just shorts, socks, shoes, what's there to rob?
3.) So there's the Parque Nacional De Tijuca in Rio. And they have trails. Will I be a target to get mugged, also?
4.) In general, if I'm outside of Rio, Sao Paulo, and Salvador, is crime rate still high?
5.) How do I go about actually taking a photo?

Ok, I'm now 17 years old and I'm a junior (supposed to be a senior this yr.) I want to be a pediatric nurse but I don't know I should attend for college. I live in New Jersey. My mom suggested me to go to Brookdale Community College for at least 3 yrs and then go to American International College which located in Mass. I'm not sure if I want to do that because I've always wanted to live in Europe and I don't know if I should attend college and have a job here or move to europe. In addtion, I'm hard-of-hearing and I was told that there's more opportunity for foreigners and hearing impaired people than in europe. I was born in congo and I speak french. learning english was hard for me because american accent is odd for me to understand. I'm now learning spanish and german. I don't feel comfortable living here. My family and I moved here because my dad is a diplomat and our government sent us to work in U.S so we had no choice but to live here. America is great but I want to live europe.

I found this cute little quiz on the Egyption section, so I just borrowed it for SA.
According to this, I am Japanese food, strange yet delicious. Contrary to popular belief, I am not always eaten raw. Lol!

I mean for example.. what's the first thing you'll do if you buy a piece of land? fence it... right?
That's becoming a concept everywhere.. even our north coast and now slowly the east coast... fences... fences ... even around the whole country.. doesn't that make you feel kind of trapped? annoyed?

This is my result.
You are a blue crayon.
Your world is colored in calm, understated, deep colors.
You are a loyal person, and the truest friend anyone could hope to find.
On the inside, you tend to be emotional and even a bit moody.
However, you know that people depend on you. So you put on a strong front.

Your color wheel opposite is orange. Orange people may be opinionated, but you feel they lack the depth to truly understand what they're saying.
