My husband and I are looking for a good vacation spot in Florida to vacation this summer. We'll have 3 kids, a 4 year old, 3 year old, and a 6 month old, so somewhere that would also be family oriented. We live in Florida ( Clearwater Beach) specifically, and have done all the "local" attractions as well as we have been to Orlando several times and don't want to do theme park type stuff.

We dont really know where we want to go, but only want to deal with a days drive, between 6-12 hours at the most.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi neighbor, Indian Rocks, I go to Naples, there is zoo, beaches, Marco Island, Everglades. Three hrs away, is also Ft Myers area, nice. In Naples I stay at the Cove Inn, right on the public marina. Every room has a private balcony, you would need a larger area. They all have kitchens, wonderful pool area. Lots of restaurants, they have a bbq grill for your use. I go three times a year, right after Easter, rates go down. Check out there web site, love to visit there, Happy Holidays!!!

What are you wanting to do for entertainment? Naples and Bonita and also Marco are also very family beaches. Very little sports being played with lots of older people and families. There are air boats and sunset cruises and lots and lots of seashells to collect. Also very cheap to rent out a "beach house" for the week here on Ft. Myers beach during the summer as it is a dead part of the season here. Everywhere is empty as all of the old people go back to their summer homes. I have www.MenuVenueSwfl.com and will help assist you in anyways I can. Just let me know what you need. If you need help finding somewhere I am sure I can help you book something cheap.....

See if NASA has anything for your family.

The Keys are always fun.

How about take "mini vacations" and explore towns around you? Clearwater one day. Sarasota another day. Visit the State capitol another day.
