My girlfriend and I want to go on vacation to Europe, but she does not have a US passport or a passport of any of the EU countries. She holds a Belarus passport so she would normally need a visa. Does having a green card eliminate the need for a visa, as it would if you had a US passport?

I have two weeks free from work in August, and I'm interested in traveling somewhere...

Given that many businesses throughout Europe close during August, where would be a good place to travel...preferably somewhere that restaurants, etc. would be open.

I have a family of four and we are dedicated Disney lovers. We go at least once a year. The rest of our year is spent wondering how we can get back!
Question is...I got to looking at prices. There are some AMAZING deals if going to Universal, and my eight year old wants so badly to stay in the NickHotel.

Thing is, we have a two year old as well. I am wondering if there is anything that could appeal to her for six or seven days there.
The most important thing I want to know is, does Universal have any of the "magic" we are used to at Disney? My worst fear is getting there and spending a week regretting not going to WDW.
The only reason we are considering it is the amazing deals and the fact that we are doing a Disney cruise next year.
I would love to hear from people who have been to both, especially with young children. Were you disappointed?

I'd like to buy stuff from other countries - like weird sodas and snacks (Lime Fanta, Tim Tams, etc.), stamps, maps, postcards, tourist information literature, newspapers, etc. What are some online sites where people in the US can order things like that?

If there's a Yahoo Answers Convention, let say to be held in Makati, who would you like to be seating next to you? Your left and right side. Considering that only Yahoo Answers Users are invited.

And why?

Mine is ATE Inday and misiu - the lady behind the mask :-)

Doesn't have to be fancy but let's say, off the Strip, spotless rooms, great service and food. Under $100 a night would be nice.

I will be going to the Virgin Islands in September and have never taken a flight with a stopover. My question is would it be preferable to stop in Puerto Rico or Miami. Considering passport requirements and all I'm wondering which would be easier. Also I will be traveling with my 7 year old nephew and the stopover is about 5 hours in P.R. and 3 in Miami.

I applied for my passport last Thu on the 21st and paid for expedited shipping. Today I checked my status and it said I applied for routine service and should be receiving it within 10-12 weeks. Is this just the normal answer that they give everyone who checks their status online or do I need to call them?My trip is Sep 29th and I really dont want to panic. Please help!

My whole family is going on a cruise from Florida to the Bahamas to celebrate my grandparents 50th anniversary! :)
A couple people (my aunt, uncle, cousins..) don't have passports. Do they need passports? The cruise is over Thanksgiving 2007.

I've been living in Las Vegas for almost 14 years now and at first living here wasn't so bad but now it is so awful!...There are so many bad drivers here I avoid at least 7 accidents just going to work...the majority of the people here are so rude...the weather is extremely hot...I'm not much of a casino person so there really isn't much to do if you take that part away...why would anybody want to live here let alone raise thier children in this place...Granted it is a Great place to visit for a few days but not living..does anybody else feel the same about there town??...

I'm serious. People who have been there before, back me up on this. Everything works better in japan, people are nicer, women are better looking, things work the way they're supposed to, cooler cell phones, no stupid liquor laws, you can get Whiskey from vending machines, amazing public transportation, the Shinkansen, no machismo, don't have to worry about who has a gun, awesome clubs where women actually look feminine (Asian women are soooooooooooo hot) , arcades (yes, in Japan they still have them ) hanami, nomikais, no Republicans, etc.
