I saw this place in Europe (Spain or Portugal maybe?) on the Travel Channel, where people purchase wax candles in the shape of human organs and take them to an alter to burn and it is supposed to heal that part of their body. Did anyone see this? Where is this place?

I was hoping to find something modest while I am looking for work in that part of the country.

This summer my girlfriend and I want to go to North America. It comes down to either the USA or Canada. Don't really want to do both.

We're trying to weigh the pros and cons: The USA gets all the attention in the world and has more glitz and glamour than anywhere else on Earth, but it also seems sort of tacky. Also, American travellers I've met in the UK haven't exactly been the best ambassadors for their country, if you know what I mean. However, I've also heard that Americans are more appealing in their own country.

As for Canada, people always say Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are great cities with lots of attractions and the countryside is legendary. It also has a 'Britishness' about it (pubs, the food, etc). Canadians I've met have always been fun, laid-back people who appreciate a 'drinking culture.' On the downside, Canada is also much more expensive than the U.S. and the French region of Quebec isn't always warm to English-speakers, I've heard.

Any thoughts?

Specifically the area around Oval cricket ground. Also, is there much to do there? Is it a convenient location?

I will soon live in this place (near the north acton tube station). Is it a safety place, how is the night life, is there buses to go to the center of London during night, etc.
Thank you very much

I read online that it was in Hayden Planetarium ... but then I'm also finding references to an "old" planetarium that has been closed. So I'm wondering if that particular exhibit/room is history. I've been to current HP website and could not find my answer.

I am going to fly into Lima from Los Angeles. After that I'd like to go to Cuzco (and Machu Picchu). Is it better to fly there, or can I take a bus or train?

For the expats.. where are you originally from, how long will you be staying and what do you HONESTLY think of Singapore?? I'm from New York and only staying until the end of the year (been here since April 06) and honestly... it's pretty but really quite boring.
