American Airlines, US Air Ways and Delta...you can also take any other major carrier such as United, Continental, ATA, Air Tran etc to San Juan Puerto Rico and then take American Eagle over to St Thomas. Just make sure you have an hour between your connecting flights. Spirit Air also had great fares but only has a few direct flights from the US to St Thomas. I took Spirit Air on one round trip St Thomas and was satisifed with them. I have taken both American and US Air Ways numerous times (I have frequent flyer miles on them) and havent had any problems except you must make sure that you leave adequate time for your connections a be wary of American Air during peak seasons b/c the often overbook and end up bouncing some people off the flight who check in 'late'.

having flown in and out of here (STT) for 30 years I would AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE anything that connects / has you change planes in San Juan..its almost always a chaotic nightmare.

In addition to the other answers, SPIRIT is doing a very nice job flying in here...you can go from Dallas-Fort Worth to Ft Lauderdale then direct into St Thomas
