I'm considering a job in DC. I have a young family, so low crime and safety are very important. Schools are not a factor -- we are homeschooling our kids. My job would be in the city, so being near a Metro station would be great. I'm not terribly familiar with the communities in suburban VA or MD. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I've attended many Vietnamese receptions but I never really paid attention to the details of what was going on. Now... I am getting married and I have no idea what to do. Being that I am Buddhist, my family just basically concentrates on the reception as the actual wedding. What details should I make sure I pay attention to and what should I exactly do at the reception other than going from table to table to thank my guests for coming and collect money?

Your help would be much appreciated no matter how great or small!

I am a 27 year old bartender in Detroit at 2 large music venues and I have heard so much crap talked about the city by people who I feel that their negative judgement about Detroit has ultimately given the city a bad rap across the country and the world. Detroit had a secret.The people who live here have alot of pride and hope for their beloved city, there are many undiscoverd group of talent. Our local media dosent cover issues or events concerning art or music, and on a broader scale I think it affects the cities image, and outsiders do not hear or see the culture that prevails here. Its sad the people from the suburbs tell people that Detroit is a dangerous place and if they visit the area to immediatly go outside of the city for amusement and culture. Are they supporting their local communties by talking crap about a city that needs people to understand its not the evil place everyone says it is?

As I'm taking Singapore Airlines(SIA),may I know what's the minimum age for drinking alcohol on board a SIA flight...I was thinking that it's 18 years old

Ok, so in a few months i'll be going to hawaii. But i dont want to get stranded too late or too eairly for check in. So my 2 questions are, 1. If check in is at 2pm when should my flight from san francisco to hawaii leave, and will i have to take a second plane to Kauai? 2.
