I will be traveling to Japan for 9 days next June, my airfare, meals, accomidations, and sightseeing tour is completely planned with the package. Osaka, Nara, Tokyo, Kyoto, etc. What do I need to take with me when I go? I can speak and write Japanese, I have a passport, and I am familiar with customs there. But, I am at a loss for words as to what I need to bring with. Any suggestions?

My fiance and I are driving through Canada a month after we are married for our honeymoon. We are going from mid-Michigan to the Boston area, and driving through Canada will save us a few hours each way. Neither of us have ever been to Canada and I am getting my name changed when we get married. I don't know if it will be officially changed in time for me to get my passport with my married name, but my name on my license should be changed by that time.

Also, we are going to faires that allow peace-tied swords and we want to bring those in the trunk.

Lastly, I work at Starbucks and get free coffee and I'm taking several pounds to my friends. I always get checked at the airport when I bring large quantities of coffee (no problem) but will it be a problem on the border? Hopefully they have the same equipment.

This trip is in mid-October and our wedding/date I file for my name change is September 3rd.

Everything I've read says to carry a backpack to Disney World with you. It made sense to me, so that I could carry the things I bought with me, but we're staying at a Disney resort and can have our purchases delivered for free. So does anyone know why else I would need one? What do you carry in yours?
