2003 - went around the world in 18 days stopping in San Francisco, Honolulu, Australia and Hong Kong. 3 countries, 3 continents and every time zone. I saw all sorts of landscapes from cosmopolitan cities, lush tropical mountains, coral reefs, natural harbours, wholesome red deserts and golden beaches. So many things I have never seen before, and I flew through a rainbow above the north Pacific.
2004 - toured round The Americas for 3 weeks taking in Montreal, California, New Mexico, Florida and Brazil. It had its ups and downs, but in retrospect was a pretty eventful and exciting time. Again, I took in cosmopolitan cities; but also different social groups and languages: English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. I also met Americanised immigrants, native Americans, hippies, Cubans, beach beau monde, Rio's party people and all sorts of cool backpackers and young people.
I saw iconic attractions in perfect sunshine, watched the early morning mass ascension at the Albuquerque hot air balloon festival (photogenic and breathtaking) and witnesses a mythical 'parting of clouds' at the Christ statue.
