I'm taking my first cruise through Carnival Cruise and was wondering if I'm guarenteed to have a nice time. Is August considered hurricane season, will I have anything to worry about?

Looking to buy a guide book for Spain. There's several to choose from - Eyewitness, Rough Guide, Lonely Planet, Insight, Fodor's Rick Steves, Michelin, etc. Is there a significant difference between these - is one better than the others? To put this in context, I'm thinking of going to Southern Spain - perhaps spend a few days in Barcelona as well.

Will be travelling to Las Vegas around Sept. 15th, and was wondering what the weather is like there around this time of year.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Think of websites (if you can also include it that would be great), broadcasting stations (like CNN, BBC, ESPN, etc) and radio. Tell me whatever you know about South Africa and how you attained this knowledge.

My friends and I are taking a 16-day tour of Europe by rail. We have only about 3-4 days to spend in Switzerland and I do want to make the most of it. My plan is to arrive in Bern, and go on to Luzern (spend the night) and onto Interlaken. Most of the time will be spent in Lauterbrunnen (sp?) and the surrounding mountain villages. Should I leave some more time for Bern, Luzern and Interlaken?

Thanks much!

My family is considering relocating to the Twin Cities. I'm looking for a suburb that is safe, with good schools, family-oriented. I want to be less than 40 minutes from downtown. I'd also prefer newer single family homes. ( less than 10 years old if not newer) I'd also like to to be affordable (under $350k housing) Any suggestions? I want to stay away from Plymouth.

I do not have a degree,I have travel & tourism qualification also Alevel English.I have worked within business travel and have passport/visa experience. I would love to work for an adventure travel company or something similar that would perhaps also involve travelling abroad. I am bored in an office and need to get into work that I am interested in, my passion is travel. I know most of these types of companies require staff to be well travelled, I am going to Costa Rica for an adventure holiday in October; other than that I have not travelled much, the usual -USA, Europe, have not travelled extensively. Are there any companies that take on less experienced staff and provide training etc? Any other job suggestions also welcome. I need to have some excitement/variation in my working life!I am very bored in my current job!

I'm Filipino and it annoys me when I read something clearly false posted by someone who has limited experience or knowledge about the Philippines. It annoys me even more when the asker doesn't have contact info where I can at least msg them and set them straight.

Examples:
Some girl in Texas thinks the Americans liberated the Philippines from Spain then gave it back to Spain after WWII. (Arghhhhhhhh...)
Some girl lumped Pinoys with all other Asians and generalized that Filipino men are domineering towards all women. (How's we end up with 2 female presidents then?)

I don't get annoyed when some yahoo says something completely stupid like all Pinoys are whores. Everyone can tell they're just being dumb. I'm more annoyed by people who claim to know the Philippines but end up spreading stupid misconceptions that get passed on.

So I'm looking for other examples on Y!A of someone getting the story wrong about Pinoys. I'll keep extending this question so I we can compile a list.

Salamat
